In the front panel of the desktop chassis is one or more drive bays. These bays allow |floppy disk|, |optical disc|, |tape|, and |hard drives| to be mounted within the system. This keeps them accessible from the exterior of the chassis (for insertion of a floppy disk, for example). Users will often configure their systems to include both 3 1/2" and 5 1/4" floppy drives, and a hard disk drive.
